Cookie Policy

This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies this website uses, why, and how you control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers personal data more broadly.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device so it can recognise your browser on a later visit. That is what keeps you signed in, remembers your language and region, and lets us measure whether anything on the site actually works. Similar technologies such as local storage and tracking pixels do comparable jobs and this policy covers them too.

The categories we use

  • Strictly necessary. Required for the site to function at all: your session, your language and region choice, security and abuse prevention. These cannot be switched off, because without them the site does not work.
  • Analytics. Tells us which pages are read, which are ignored and where people give up, so we know what to fix. Set only with your consent.
  • Marketing. Measures whether an advertising campaign led anywhere and avoids showing you the same advert repeatedly. Set only with your consent.

Consent, and what happens before you give it

When you first arrive you are asked which categories you accept. Nothing beyond the strictly necessary category is set until you choose. We operate consent mode: until you accept analytics or marketing, those tools run in a restricted state and do not store identifiers on your device. This is not a banner that sets everything and asks afterwards.

You can change your mind at any time through the cookie settings on this site. You can also clear or block cookies entirely in your browser, though blocking the strictly necessary ones will break parts of the site.

The full inventory

Rather than paraphrase the list here, where it would drift out of date the moment a tool changes, we publish it in full and keep it with the tooling:

Download the IGNITECH Cookie Inventory (PDF)

It names each cookie, its category, its purpose, whether we or a third party set it, and how long it lasts.

Third parties

Some cookies are set by services we rely on rather than by us directly, including analytics and advertising platforms. Where the law requires it those providers act as processors on our instructions. The inventory names each one, and our Privacy Policy explains the basis on which data reaches them and how international transfers are handled.

Changes

When we add or remove a tool, this page and the inventory are updated together. Material changes are announced through the cookie banner rather than applied quietly.

Questions

If anything here is unclear, or you want to know exactly what we hold, write to us through the contact page and we will answer specifically rather than pointing you back at this document.
